When we visit a new country, a new city or even a new restaurant these days we always look for the places where we can get the most Gram worthy pictures! We all want to visit those places that relate to a city right ? As you guys already know that I have lived in Mexico City(Ciudad de Mexico) for close to two years and that gave me a lot of time to explore the city and visit all those places that I had looked up before landing there.

Mexico City is actually a beautiful concoction of a traditional Mexican town and urban grandeur and chaos which is the second largest in the entire Americas. There are plenty of chic places, many things to do and an array of colours splattered across the town - brilliance that can only be found in Mexico.

Let me virtually take you to all these favourite places of mine in Mexico City so that it makes life easier for you when you plan your trip there :)

1) Mexico Mi Amor - Probably the best example of 'Pretty Pink' that you'll ever walk across. The pinkest, most prettiest corner in Mexico City located at Tane, Polanco.

2) Monumento a la Revolución - The Monument of Revolution is a monument commemorating the Mexican Revolution. It is located in Plaza de la República, Paseo de la Reforma. You can take a tour and actually see a panoramic view of the city from the top.

3) Kiosco Morisco - Moorish-style iron kiosk in a neighbourhood gathering place located in Santa Maria la Ribera. The place is beauty in simplicity personified and totally Gram worthy

4) Torre Latinoamericano - This is the most recognizable skyscraper in Mexico City and was the first skyscraper in the world to be built in a highly seismic zone. Located in the Downtown region and built in 1956 it has survived two major earthquakes without any damage. An engineering marvel that you can visit and see the mesmerising beauty of CDMX from up top.

5) Zocalo, Downtown - Zocalo, Downtown Mexico City is a must visit. Zocalo is not only the center of town for this grand city but during Aztec times was considered to be the center of the universe. Templo Mayor, Metropolitan Catedral, Palacio Nacional among others are the historic buildings that adorn this place. Having been the center of some of the most important events in history starting from the times of the Mexica you will rarely find a more historic and Gram-able place in the middle of a city

6) The Palacio de Bellas Artes - Bellas Artes is a prominent cultural centre in Mexico City. Some of the most notable events in music, dance, theatre, opera and literature are held here. This landmark building with its golden domes and roof is just the perfect backdrop for your Insta pictures.

7) Biblioteca Vasconcelos - One of the grandest and most beautiful libraries in Downtown Mexico City. A massive megalibrary with 600,000 books it is a must visit not just for reading but to relish its architecture and ambience.

8) Palacio de Correos - A stunning post office, more commonly known as 'Palacio Postal' is the General Post Office of Mexico City. Located right across the street from Bellas Artes this is the epitome of grandeur and “The most beautiful Post office that I’ve ever seen or visited'.

9) San Angel - A mini magical town that will make you forget that you actually are in the middle of a sprwaling metropolis is a perfect place to go spend your day. Take a walk on the cobble stone streets surrounded by pretty colourful buildings, cute cafes and and hundreds of backdrops for your Gram feed. Go on a Saturday to see it at its best.

10) La Casa Azul - The informative and beautiful Freida Kahlo house art Muesum is surrounded by cobalt blue walls and the inside of the house is just as pretty. There are queues over the weekend so plan your visit in advance.

11) Parque La Mexicana - The most urban park located in Santa Fe, Mexico City has paved trails, surrounded by the tall skyscrapers and tranquil waterbodies. There are some restaurants and cafes within the park premise. One of the largest parks in the city it is one of the better ways to escape the noise and traffic and have a peaceful walk

12) World Trade Centre - One of the most stunning buildings in the City, located in the Napoles neighbourhood makes for a stunning picture setup.

13) Iglesia de San Josemaria - One of the most modern and good looking Churches that I ever visited. Go here and not just the exteriors, do visit inside the Church and you’ll be blown away. Clicking pictures inside is also not a problem.

14) Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe - This is the national shrine of Mexico and rightly so. Massive, modern and beautiful, this holy place will show you a glimpse of the Mexicans love and devotion for Mother Mary. Located a little far off from the main city but definitely worth a visit.

15) Angel de la Independencia - A victory column on a roundabout on one of the major avenues of Paseo de la Reforma in downtown Mexico City. Simply called El Angel by Mexicans this is the most recognizable landmark not just for Mexico City but for Mexico as a country. A thing of stunning beauty and passion this is one place which if you miss your Mexico trip would be incomplete.

I hope this will help all the readers to plan their trip to the City and get to see some of the most stunning places in the City which are also a perfect backdrop for those amazing Instagram worthy pictures for your feed.

I’m so happy that finally, all the best hotels are reaching my city Lucknow. The one that I most recently discovered was the plush Novotel. Novotel is conveniently located near most of the business parks in the city, opposite Sahara hospital and in close proximity to the International stadium. This property is loved, frequently visited and endorsed by commoners and celebrities alike.

The staff at the reception were as refreshing and welcoming as the lovingly prepared greeting drink. Check-in formalities were completed with the speed and efficiency of the Shinkansen. The most unique and beautiful thing in this staycation was that I got to enjoy the company of my family. Naturally, I wanted everything to be perfect-er. I have to gleefully acknowledge that everything from the reception to the bell boy and housekeeping to the in-room dining made sure that my goal was met.

Continuing the chapter from where we left - we then took the elevator to our suite which was the definition of luxury. A huge living room, a very spacious bedroom, and two bathrooms, out of which one had a tub. I always enjoy having a tub in my room. The decor in each and every nook and corner of the suite was on target - chic and very stylish. The bed was so cozy that it was difficult for my family to get me out of the bed to even explore the property, but of course, I had to so we did see around. Let me try and draw a picture using my limited vocabulary.

There are 106 rooms at the property and you get access to super fast wifi, large screen television, sofa-beds in addition to the bed in the bedroom. A lot of space in the living room to just sit and relax or catch up on that office work. All this while looking at the lush green view of the city.

There are plenty of options for you to select your drinks and food from. You enjoy the meal within your room but without a doubt, I would recommend that you visit one of their finely done restaurants and bars to really enjoy those plates of delicacies:

The Square - The square is a huge restaurant that serves various cuisines including regional and international. The food was delicious. The Manchow soup and Dahi k kebabs are highly recommended.

The Bar - For those perfect evenings with sips and conversations. The Bar serves innovative cocktails, classic drinks and any other concoction that you want.

Edge - This was my favorite place at Novotel. A wonderful rooftop setup to unwind as the sun bids adieu for the day. You can enjoy your dates, family dinners or that fun office party here.

Deli- There is also a pop-up bakery and coffee shop right at the ground level where you can help yourselves with a delicious cake or two along with your preferred brew

Another favorite spot of mine at Novotel Lucknow was the mind-blowing swimming pool. An infinity pool, winter mornings and sunshine makes for such an inviting scenario. I sat next to the pool sipping my juice and soaking up some Vitamin D.

There is a compact gym fit into this lap of luxury as you should never miss out on staying healthy even when on a vacation. Coupled with this comes The Zivaya Spa - the in-house spa at Novotel Lucknow.

I had a wonderful time at Novotel along with my mother and brother and I cannot wait to revisit the property when I am back in town. I would strongly recommend Novotel for your travels to Lucknow, India.

Luxury, grandeur and magnificence are the first three words that strike my mind when I try to describe the Marriott Whitefield Hotel in Bengaluru. From the glorious lobby to the grand swimming pool, from the twin towers to the spiral steps. It all translates well into the three words that I mentioned above.

Perched in one of the busiest business areas of the city Marriott Whitefield is the perfect option for your business trips to the city or for that perfect city staycation with your family.

One thing that stood out for me was the warm and cordial staff. Right from the checkin up until the checkout, they made sure to make my stay at Marriott a memorable one.

The property is indeed grand as they have over 390 rooms. I was lodged at a splendid suite  with the view of the pool for a two day staycation. You can however choose a city view room too. My suite comprised of a lovely and huge drawing room, a bed room with the comfiest bed ever and a bathroom that needs to be called out for its sheer luxurious design. There was a television set inside the bathroom so that you can be entertained even while you relax in the tub before calling it a night.

Now lets talk about the food here. Not exaggerating even a bit. Apart from the huge inroom dining menu that is available to be delivered right to room 24 hours of the day, there are five finely curated restaurants / bars at the property where they spoil you for choice and how.

M-Cafe - This is an all day dining restaurant that is open to you even if you’re not staying at the hotel. You can comfortably enjoy the Indian, Asian and other International cuisines either by sitting inside the dining room or the outside patio and enjoy the delicious food.

M-Bar - Looking for a place in Whitefield, Bengaluru to enjoy some evening cocktails with your friends or colleagues? The cozy lounge set up of M-Bar coupled with the bespoke cocktails and some Fussball - sounds like a perfect evening, doesnt it?

Alto Vino - Got a thing for Italian cuisine? I seriously do. If you love your Italian food and wine then Alto Vino is your heaven. The elaborate collection of fine wine along with your perfect pizza, pasta or so much more from the menu makes this one of my favourite restaurants at the property.

WBG - Whitefield Bar & Grill - This award winning restaurant is loved by the people of Bengaluru and I could definitely see why. Care for some barbecue next to the glittering pool on the roof top? WBG is perfect for your romantic rendezvous. This could be the next destination for your date.

Whitefield Baking Company - Need to rush for your early morning meetings but hunger strikes? Just grab a tasty sandwich or that perfectly baked croissant or select from the tastiest cakes and pastries. This is the place to satiate your sweet tooth.

Well, eat without thinking about anything at all because there also is a health centre right inside the property so you can never miss a workout and stay healthy even during your staycation. Not a gym person but a water baby instead? Worry not, for the swimming pool has got you covered. The pool area is one of the best places and my personal favourite at the property. In the pool or outside, you can just sit and relax, sunbathe or swim all you want.

I had a great couple of days at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield and it couldn’t be any better because I was so ready for the work week to take me up after the staycation of my life at one of the most resplendent properties in the city. Thank you for hosting me and I can’t wait to be back.
